Import Product Catalogue

Objective: allow ELChat to use your catalogue information in responses and recommendations. Prerequisite: a maximum of 20 MB CSV, XLS or XLSX file.

Check that the file contains:

  • one line per product;
  • a first line with column names;
  • a product name for each line;
  • unique references if used;
  • coherent prices and currencies;
  • complete URLs for products and images.
  1. Open the Products tab.
  2. Launch the import.
  3. Choose the file.
  4. Check the preview.
  5. Match the columns of the file to the ELChat fields.
  6. At a minimum, check the Product name, only field marked mandatory in the assistant.
  7. Launch the import.

You can download a CSV or XLSX template from the wizard to prepare column names.

Follow the progress, then check:

  • the number of products;
  • several names and references;
  • categories;
  • prices and currencies;
  • visibility and stock;
  • URLs;
  • treatment status.

Example of first import

Start with three representative products: a product in stock, a broken product and a product on sale. Check that the file contains at least:

Nom,Reference,Prix,Devise,Stock,URL
Chaise Atlas,CHA-001,149.00,EUR,12,https://exemple.com/chaise-atlas
Table Noura,TAB-002,399.00,EUR,0,https://exemple.com/table-noura
Lampe Zina,LAM-003,79.00,EUR,8,https://exemple.com/lampe-zina

The small batch allows you to check the cases that influence the responses: availability, price and link. Once the mapping has been validated and the products indexed, expand the import to the complete catalogue.
