Import Product Catalogue
Objective: allow ELChat to use your catalogue information in responses and recommendations. Prerequisite: a maximum of 20 MB CSV, XLS or XLSX file.
Before import
Section titled “Before import”Check that the file contains:
- one line per product;
- a first line with column names;
- a product name for each line;
- unique references if used;
- coherent prices and currencies;
- complete URLs for products and images.
Import
Section titled “Import”- Open the Products tab.
- Launch the import.
- Choose the file.
- Check the preview.
- Match the columns of the file to the ELChat fields.
- At a minimum, check the Product name, only field marked mandatory in the assistant.
- Launch the import.
You can download a CSV or XLSX template from the wizard to prepare column names.
After import
Section titled “After import”Follow the progress, then check:
- the number of products;
- several names and references;
- categories;
- prices and currencies;
- visibility and stock;
- URLs;
- treatment status.
Example of first import
Start with three representative products: a product in stock, a broken product and a product on sale. Check that the file contains at least:

Once the mapping has been validated and the products indexed, expand the import to the complete catalogue.
