Import Document

Objective: turn a reference document into usable knowledge. Prerequisite: a maximum 20 MB file in supported format.

Import Document

1. Open Knowledge or Resources.
2. Choose import of a file.
3. Enter a title of 255 characters maximum.
4. Select the file.
5. Click on the sending action, then wait until the treatment is completed.

Choose the title

The title helps ELChat and the administrator to understand the context of the resource.

Prepare content

• use a final and current version;
• give clear titles to the sections;
• remove unnecessary blank pages or attachments;
• avoid documents containing confidential information not intended for answers;
• separate very different subjects when this facilitates maintenance.

Check treatment

1. Open Resources.
2. Look for the title.
3. Wait for status Indexed.
4. Test a specific question.

In case of error, check the resource message, check the format and size, and then replace the file or restart the processing.
