Connect Hootsuite
What is this connection for?
Section titled “What is this connection for?”Hootsuite allows ELChat to see the available social profiles, list the planned publications, plan a publication and cancel a publication still pending.
Functionality to check before use. The current OAuth route of ELChat does not explicitly request the Hootsuite
offline, while the automatic renewal awaits a refresh token. In addition, Hootsuite currently requires HTTP Basic authentication when exchanging code, which must be validated on the ELChat platform.
Authentication
Section titled “Authentication”The connection is provided in OAuth 2.0. The Hootsuite application identifiers belong to ELChat: the user does not copy any Client ID, Secret Client, or token.
The effective rights are those of the Hootsuite user and the ELChat application. The official reference Hootsuite specifies that the API user retains the permissions of his dashboard and that the offline scope is required for a refresh token.
Planned user path
Section titled “Planned user path”- Open Dashboard > your site > AI Actions > Connectors.
- Click Connect on the map of Hootsuite.
- Log in to Hootsuite.
- Allow the ELChat application for the relevant profiles.
- Let the browser return to the dashboard.
- Check the status Connect.
If the connection or its renewal fails, stop here and have the OAuth ELChat configuration validated; no user ID can fix an incomplete configuration.
Check the connection
Section titled “Check the connection”Ask ELChat to list the social profiles and then the planned publications. Do not plan anything until these two readings work.
Capacity provided in ELChat

Reconnect, disconnect and troubleshoot
Section titled “Reconnect, disconnect and troubleshoot”The reconnexion must be returned by OAuth. For full revocation, disable in ELChat and then remove the application in Hootsuite.
- Failed upon return OAuth: exchange configuration of the code to be corrected side ELChat.
- Session expired quickly:
offlineor the refresh token missing. - Profile missing: Hootsuite user does not have access to this profile.
- Time refused: Provide a future date ISO 8601 in UTC ending with
Z. - Network not supported: Hootsuite includes specific rules for Pinterest.
Security and limits
Section titled “Security and limits”Publications bind the brand. Keep the admin confirmation, read the text, profiles and time. This connector must not be announced as operational until the OAuth feed and its renewal have passed a controlled production test.
Example: planned test publication
Section titled “Example: planned test publication”If your environment allows the OAuth route, connect the Hootsuite account that has the Maison Atlas — LinkedIn profile, list the accessible profiles, then prepare the Test de publication interne text at a future time in UTC, e.g. 2026-09-18T09:00:00Z.
The profile verifies the destination and UTC format avoids a zone ambiguity. Use the admin confirmation, check the scheduled publication, and cancel it if the test should not be published.
