Connect ClickUp
What is this connection for?
Section titled “What is this connection for?”ClickUp allows ELChat to browse spaces and lists, view tasks, create them, change their status and add comments.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”ELChat requests a ** personal API token** ClickUp. This token represents your user and inherits his rights. Fictitious example:pk_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
The [official ClickUp documentation]](#)reserves the personal token for personal/internal use; OAuth is recommended for an application used by multiple accounts. ELChat implements the personal token here.
Get the token
Section titled “Get the token”- Log in to ClickUp with the account that accesses the desired workspaces.
- Open your Personal adjustments.
- Go to Apps.
- In API Token, click Generate or copy the existing token.
- Keep it as a password.
Connect and verify
Section titled “Connect and verify”- Open Dashboard > your site > IA Actions > Connectors.
- Click Connect on the ClickUp map.
- Paste the personal API token and validate.
- Ask ELChat to list accessible workspaces.
- Then choose a space or folder, list its lists, and then control a known task.
ELChat does not ask for aID in the form: it first discovers the workspaces, then uses the IDs of the spaces, folders, lists and tasks returned by ClickUp.
Capacity available
Section titled “Capacity available”| Actual capacity | Type |
|---|---|
| List accessible workspaces | Reading |
| List lists of a space or folder | Reading |
| List tasks from a list, with status filter | Reading |
| See details of a task | Reading |
| Create a task in a list | Writing |
| Change the status of a task | Writing |
| Leave a comment | Writing |
ELChat does not remove tasks and does not manage ClickUp documents, dashboards, tracking times or automations.
Reconnect, Disconnect and Troubleshoot
Section titled “Reconnect, Disconnect and Troubleshoot”Generate a new token, reconnect, test List the workspaces, then revoke the old one. CLChat deactivation does not invalidate the token in ClickUp.
- No workspace: the token owner does not belong to any accessible workspace.
- List not found: check the selected space or folder.
- Refused status: the name must correspond exactly to a status configured in the list.
- Error 429: wait for reset; ClickUp limits vary according to the package.
Security
Section titled “Security”The personal token can affect everything the user sees. Use a dedicated account or reduce access to the required workspaces.
Example: limiting ClickUp to a team
Connect a dedicated user who only belongs to the workspaceMaison Atlas — Support, then ask for the list of workspaces. Choose the space and list returned by ClickUp, and test the playback of a known task before creating or modifying a task.
ClickUp discovers IDs after login: you must not invent them in the form. Reading confirms the workspace, space, list and token rights; the entries must be activated only after this verification.
