Visitor Intelligence

Visitor Intelligence reconstructs the observed path of a visitor on your site, before, during and after its interaction with the ELChat widget.

What is observed

Depending on the site configuration and the actual events available, ELChat can link:

• pages viewed and changes to URL;
• significant scrolls in the pages of your site;
• clicks, forms, CTA and detected interactions;
• openings, closures and events of the widget;
• periods of activity and inactivity;
• the catches of the visible area of the site when this proof is available, and the replay of the route.

The replay restores the visible area of your site with the dimensions and format of the visitor’s device: computer, mobile or tablet. When the widget is opened, the administrator can see its opening, navigation, clicks, masked seizures and changes in the state of the conversation.

Observation and identity

The routes are linked to a site-specific visitor identifier. Visitor Intelligence does not automatically display the civilian identity of the visitor and does not turn an observation into commercial certainty.

When a journey becomes visible

An active route remains in recording and is not displayed step by step in the dashboard. It becomes available after the end of the session. The dashboard is then updated when a complete course can be consulted.

This rule avoids presenting an incomplete replay while the visitor is still browsing. If the browser cannot send the end event, the session may remain absent from the list of completed routes until it is processed or expired.

Read a journey

In Dashboard → Visitor Intelligence → Course & Replay:

1. Select a pseudonym visitor or a completed route;
2. use Read, Pause, Stop and Replay to control playback;
3. use the event reader to directly reach an event;
4. check out the next three steps proposed by the timeline;
5. activate or disable Saute inactivity according to the level of detail desired;
6. use the download button to generate a video.webmReplay.

The reading counter indicates the current time and total time of the replay. The display ratio respects the recorded device: a mobile route is therefore not resized as a desktop route.

Inactivity and shelf life

Inactivity periods are kept as distinct signals. The reader can compress them to facilitate analysis or return them when one wishes to understand the time actually spent between two actions.

The default storage time of the routes and their replay is 48 hours. The exact duration may vary depending on your environment.

Limits to keep in mind

• a screenshot shows only the area visible at the moment captured, never the entire page;
• the replay depends on the actual events and catches received;
• extensions, browser restrictions, cross-origin content or site changes after the visit may limit the return;
• WebM video is generated in the administrator’s browser and does not contain audio;
• a path observation indicates a observed behaviour, not the visitor’s certain intention.
