Connect Google Drive

Google Drive allows ELChat to find files that are accessible to the connected account, to consult the available content, to file a text file and to share an existing file.

The connection uses OAuth 2.0. No technical identifier is requested from the user. ELChat requests full scopehttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive, which allows the viewing, modification, creation and deletion of all Drive files accessible to the account. This scope is classified as restricted by Google.

ELChat tools do not expose deletion or editing of a file. The official detail of the scope is available in the documentation of authorization Google Drive.

  1. Choose a Google account that only accesses files useful to ELChat, if possible.
  2. Open Dashboard > your site > IA Actions > Connectors.
  3. On the Google Drive map, click Connect.
  4. Select the account in the Google window.
  5. Read and accept Drive authorization.
  6. Return to the dashboard and check the status Connect.

Ask ELChat to search for an account-accessible test file and then view it. Compare name and content. Do a share only after you have validated the play.

ELChat does not delete a file, move a folder, or modify an existing document. Implemented repository creates contenttext/plain; it does not generate a Google Docs document layout.

Use Reconnect in case of expiration. To change your account, turn off and reconnect. Also remove ELChat access from the Google account security page if you want to invalidate Google-side permission.

Check that the file is shared with the logged account and that its name or content matches the search.

Some formats, shortcuts or protected files do not directly provide usable content. Test with a simple text file.

##Share refused

The Workspace owner or administrator may prohibit external sharing. Also check the role requested, reader or editor.

The scope requested is wider than the five actions exhibited by ELChat. Use an account or a dedicated Shared Drive, limit its content and keep the confirmation for sharing. Google Workspace quotas and policies remain applicable.

Example: controlled file repository

Use a Shared DriveELChat — Testsor an account that only accesses relevant documents. First ask:Recherche le fichier Politique de retour 2026Then check it out. After comparing the content, test the repository of a named text filetest-elchat.txtand test sharing only with an internal control address.

Reading confirms the right account and perimeter. The text file allows you to test the script without modifying an existing document, while sharing remains subject to confirmation because it changes the access of another person.
