Connect Google Drive
What is this connection for?
Section titled “What is this connection for?”Google Drive allows ELChat to find files that are accessible to the connected account, to consult the available content, to file a text file and to share an existing file.
Authentication and permission
Section titled “Authentication and permission”The connection uses OAuth 2.0. No technical identifier is requested from the user. ELChat requests full scopehttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive, which allows the viewing, modification, creation and deletion of all Drive files accessible to the account. This scope is classified as restricted by Google.
ELChat tools do not expose deletion or editing of a file. The official detail of the scope is available in the documentation of authorization Google Drive.

What can ELChat do with Google Drive?
Section titled “What can ELChat do with Google Drive?”| Actual capacity | Type |
|---|---|
| Search for files by text | Reading |
| List Recent Files | Reading |
| View an accessible file | Reading |
| File new text file | Writing |
| Share a file with an address, read or write | Writing confirmed |
ELChat does not delete a file, move a folder, or modify an existing document. Implemented repository creates contenttext/plain; it does not generate a Google Docs document layout.
Reconnect or Disconnect
Section titled “Reconnect or Disconnect”Use Reconnect in case of expiration. To change your account, turn off and reconnect. Also remove ELChat access from the Google account security page if you want to invalidate Google-side permission.
Common problems
Section titled “Common problems”File not found
Section titled “File not found”Check that the file is shared with the logged account and that its name or content matches the search.
Reading impossible
Section titled “Reading impossible”Some formats, shortcuts or protected files do not directly provide usable content. Test with a simple text file.
##Share refused
The Workspace owner or administrator may prohibit external sharing. Also check the role requested, reader or editor.
Security and limitations
Section titled “Security and limitations”The scope requested is wider than the five actions exhibited by ELChat. Use an account or a dedicated Shared Drive, limit its content and keep the confirmation for sharing. Google Workspace quotas and policies remain applicable.
Example: controlled file repository
Use a Shared DriveELChat — Testsor an account that only accesses relevant documents. First ask:Recherche le fichier Politique de retour 2026Then check it out. After comparing the content, test the repository of a named text filetest-elchat.txtand test sharing only with an internal control address.
Reading confirms the right account and perimeter. The text file allows you to test the script without modifying an existing document, while sharing remains subject to confirmation because it changes the access of another person.
