Require authentication of visitors
The setting Authentification required determines whether a visitor should log in before using the authenticated widget path.
When to activate
Section titled “When to activate”- customer space;
- conversations to be found on several visits;
- access to information or actions related to an identified user;
- course requiring a history associated with the visitor account.
When to keep anonymous access
Section titled “When to keep anonymous access”- pre-sales questions;
- orientation on a public site;
- General FAQ;
- first qualification before collecting a contact.
##Activer
- Open Settings.
- Enable Authentification required.
- Register.
- Open the site in a private window.
- Check that the widget shows the expected authentication path.
The widget includes visitor connection routes, as well as Google and Facebook options in the corresponding interface when their configuration is available.
Test both states
Section titled “Test both states”- visitor not logged in;
- connected visitor;
- resume a conversation;
- access to history;
Example of decision
Section titled “Example of decision”Keep anonymous access for a public FAQ or a first request for quotation: a visitor must be able to ask his question before creating an account. Enable Authentification required for a client portal that must display a history or propose actions related to an identified user.
The reason is related to the data shown: general information can be accessed without connection, while a history or a personalized action requires to identify the person. Always test a private window and a connected session to check that both routes are separate.
