Connect Shopify

What is this connection for?

Shopify allows ELChat to assist visitors in finding products, managing their ELChat basket and creating a payment from a draft order. The administration can also consult sales performance and abandoned payments.

Functionality to check — new shops. The current version of ELChat awaits an old permanent Admin API token in shpat_... format. Shopify no longer allows the creation of new custom applications directly from the store administration. Existing applications continue to work, but the current Dev Dashboard route must be validated with ELChat before any new connection.

1. Open the custom application used for ELChat.
2. Check your Admin. 3 API permissions. Provide access to products, commands, clients and draft controls in reading and/or writing according to the capabilities below.
3. Recover your Admin API access token in shpat_....

If you don’t have any existing applications

Don’t generate a token at random. The current creation goes through the Shopify Dev Dashboard or the CLI and can produce chips whose life cycle is different from that expected by ELChat.

Information to be completed: validated ELChat procedure to provide and renew a token from a new Shopify application.

Step 2 — Connect Shopify to ELChat

1. Open Dashboard > your site > AI Actions > Connectors.
2. On the Shopify map, click Connect.
3. Inform the domain ma-boutique.myshopify.com, without https:// or additional path.
4. Paste the Admin shpat_.... 5 API token. Validate.

Step 3 — Check connection

Map must show Connect. Then ask ELChat to search for a known published product and check its price and stock. Use the payment generation only after this reading test, as it creates a real draft command.

What can ELChat do with Shopify?

• The basket is retained by ELChat and is not the native shopping session of the theme Shopify.
• The creation of payment produces a real draft order; no payment shall be made by this action. The best sales and summary are calculated on a 250 order cap sample for the period.
• The list of abandoned payments is limited to 50 items per call.
• The compatibility with the new Shopify token model must be validated before a first modern connection.

Reconnect or disconnect

To replace a token, disconnect Shopify in ELChat, reconnect with the new token, and then test a product search. Then remove the old access from Shopify. The Disable button stops use in ELChat, but revocation in Shopify remains necessary to invalidate the token.

##Frequent problems

The token is not in the expected format

ELChat currently expects an Admin API token shpat_.... Another type of token may belong to the new Shopify model and may not be compatible.

Access denied on a specific function

The permissions of the application are insufficient. Check access to products, orders, customers and draft orders, and then reinstall or re-authorize the application if Shopify requests it.

Bad shop or no data

Use the permanent domain myshopify.com, not the public domain, and check that the token comes from the same shop.

Security

The API Admin token can give access to personal and commercial data. Keep it as a password, limit the permissions of the application and immediately revoke any exposed token.

Example: connect a test shop

For Maison Atlas, enter:

• domain: maison-atlas.myshopify.com;
• Jeton API Admin: a fictitious value in shpat_....

The permanent domain myshopify.com selects the administrative shop; the custom public domain is not enough for the connector. Then look for a published product and compare price and stock. The generation of a draft command is a real write: keep it for a separate test with confirmation.
