Connect DataForSEO
What is this connection for?
Section titled “What is this connection for?”DataForSEO gives ELChat SEO data on a domain or keyword and allows you to query Google results live. Calls may consume the balance of the DataForSEO account.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”| Identifier | Role | Fictitious example |
|---|---|---|
| API Login | Basic Auth API ID, usually account email | api-user@exemple.com |
| API Password | Secret dedicated to API calls | dfs_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
The API password is distinct from the password used to open the DataForSEO dashboard.
Get IDs
Section titled “Get IDs”- Connect to the DataForSEO dashboard.
- Open API Access.
- Copy the Login API.
- Copy or retrieve the Password API.
- Store the password in a secret manager.
DataForSEO indicates that the API password remains temporarily visible in the dashboard and can be retrieved according to the account procedure. See [documentation of authentication]](#)and the Dashboard Guide.

Capacity available
Section titled “Capacity available”| Actual capacity | Type |

| Main organic keywords, default 20 and maximum 100 | Billable reading |
| Volume, difficulty, CPC and competition of a keyword | Billable reading |
| Backlink summary | Billable reading |
| Organic competitors, default 10 and maximum 50 | Billable reading |
| Top 10 Google Live Organic Results and Domain Position | Play billable live |
Current configuration limitation
Section titled “Current configuration limitation”The engine provides a domain, location and default language, but the current ELChat form only provides login and password information. The field should therefore be explicitly named in demand. In the absence of additional setting, the default location of the connector is United States and the language English.
Information to be completed: add or validate in ELChat domain, location and default language settings before presenting the results as automatically located for another country.
Reconnect, Disconnect and Troubleshoot
Section titled “Reconnect, Disconnect and Troubleshoot”Run the API password in DataForSEO, reconnect and test an overview. Disable old supplier-side identifiers if necessary.
- 401: the API login or password is incorrect; do not use the dashboard password.
- Inadequate: Reload the account or reduce live calls.
- Results of the wrong country: the current configuration uses US/English by default; Specify this limit until the settings are added.
- Missed area: Name the domain in the application.
Security and limitations
Section titled “Security and limitations”Identifiers give access to a billable API. Protect them, monitor the balance, avoid unnecessary online searches, and consider metrics as DataForSEO estimates.
Example: analyse a French domain
In the application, explicitly namemaison-atlas.exampleand specify that you want an SEO analysis in French. The current form does not define a domain, location or default language: the domain must be present in the application and the results use by default United States / English.
The explicit field avoids the analysis of another project of the holder. The reference to the location limit prevents a US data from being interpreted as a France data. Then compare the indicators and the DataForSEO balance before multiplying the online searches.
